Synergraphic Design Pte Ltd.
The internship at Synergraphic Design was fun and fulfilling as I was tasked to do 3D modelling, 2D drafting and rendering. Although the company does not relate to my course literally. I learned valuable lessons and soft skills rather than hard skills. It broadened my horizon and knowledge on the design industry in Singapore, taught me that design is not just about the 'conceptual' design. There are a lot of 'behind-the-scenes' which requires a lot of effort to make the design 'work'.
As Synergraphic specializes and supplies glass. It was a material used in buildings and everyday life, I was taught and instilled with various knowledge on the different type of glass. During the 3 months internship at Synergraphic, I was tasked to work on some projects.
Project 1 : the tapestry @ tampines (sculpture)

The tapestry sculpture was the main project that was tasked to me since Day 1. It was a relatively difficult project as this was project was different as compared to those that I used to deal with in school. This 'tube' shape was 3 dimensional and I had to 3D model it withthe programmes that I am familiar with.
I struggled with 3D modelling for a few days and finally got the hang of it. After a few weeks, I managed to obtain the required height and width. I also rendered the 3D model for client's visualization purposes. The client was satisfied. Then, I had to draft it for submission and construction purposes. It was a rather tedious process as I was working on this alone with the guidance of my mentor, Peter.
It was one of the hardest project I worked on but when the sculpture took form in reality, the satisfaction came through.
